People Make it Possible: Nikki Allen

Nikki Allen loves to spend her days off fly fishing in north central Pennsylvania. She says the key to fly fishing is patience, attention to detail and knowing your equipment. Nikki’s hobby allows her to carry these traits over to her everyday work as an IT technician at First Quality’s plant in Lock Haven.

“I like the challenge and the people,” she said. “Everyone has been so supportive of my journey throughout my career.”

It’s a journey that began almost 18 years ago when Nikki joined First Quality. She started out in the warehouse at the Lock Haven plant, which manufactures household paper and tissue products. Two years later, she was promoted to warehouse lead. Even back then, she was always tinkering with the equipment and fixing things.

“When I wasn’t busy, I offered to help other departments on my days off,” she said. “One day I asked our IT team, ‘Do you need help?’ and that’s how it started.”

Essential products, encouraging teammates

Those same colleagues encouraged Nikki to become an official member of the IT team. In the past year, she took on her current role as the end user technician.

“I needed a lot of training; everyone was so great and happy to help,” she said. “Not just here in Lock Haven, but other facilities as well.”

Nikki says it’s the people who mean the most to her at First Quality. She feels proud to work for a company that makes essential products that everyone needs.

“I like the quality of the products that we provide. There’s a lot that goes into making paper towels and bath tissue, and it’s been a great journey to learn about the whole process from start to finish,” she said. “I’m excited to keep learning and growing with the company.”
