First Quality donates $100,000 to the One SC Fund
January 26, 2016
Many families in South Carolina remain in great need of help in order to safely return to a habitable homes as a result of the devastating floods starting on October 1, 2015. As of January 1, 2016 it is estimated that 727 households are still out of their homes, many due to lack of resources. The state of South Carolina established the One SC Fund to assist with this urgent need. This fund and the $100,000 donation from FQ will assist the most vulnerable of these 727 households in making the necessary repairs in order to return to their homes.
First Quality is pleased in this effort and in the words of Governor Nikki Haley, “I am confident that as one state and one people, we will recover as One SC….”
First Quality initially responded to the floods in South Carolina that started with traumatic weather on October 1, 2015 and did not stop for days, resulting in devastating floods throughout Columbia and the low country areas of the state. In addition to donating several truckloads of much needed bottled water, FQ also donated several deliveries of critical and sought after items including paper products and baby diapers to the American Red Cross and the South Carolina Emergency Management Division. These efforts were supported by many of our team members in Anderson, SC, Macon, GA, and Lock Haven, PA.
